Program Overview

Aspire Healthcare Solutions, operating from 1120 S. 6th Street, St. Louis, MO 63104, provides a fast-paced Hybrid CNA program. While part of this is funded by SLATE, making it free for qualifying students, others may pay. With 175 hours spread across six weeks, trainees earn a practical and flexible learning experience.

Classes are hybrid: you’ll complete 75 hours of online training at home on your own time, plus 100 hours of hands-on clinical training. The in-person clinical sessions are appointment-based and not held at fixed times—students contact the center to schedule. This gives flexibility but requires self-organization.

  • Tamara Taylor, MSN, APRN, ANP-C, also co-founder and Program Director, has a rich background in nursing and teaching, including cardiovascular care and as a nurse practitioner.
  • LaWanda Jackson, MA, MHA, supports students and brings extensive healthcare administration and medical assisting experience.

Curriculum & Learning Format

Over six weeks, students engage in:

  • 75 online hours: digital coursework you complete on your own schedule, not livestreamed lectures.
  • 100 clinical hours: hands-on patient care in real healthcare settings, scheduled by appointment. Exact times vary.

This setup balances flexibility with real-world skill development. Aspire provides core supplies—BP cuff, stethoscope, gait belt, uniform, CNA textbook/workbook—so students aren’t worried about materials.

Although six weeks feels short, the 175-hour total exceeds some shorter CNA options, making it a substantial program in a compact timeline.


Tuition & Funding

Qualified students can train for free through SLATE (St. Louis Agency on Training & Employment). Otherwise, the full program costs $1,638, with a $125 early registration fee (deducted from tuition) and a separate $125 CNA exam fee.

Aspire gives a 15% self-pay discount, reducing the cost. You can pay upfront or in installments (four bi-weekly for CNA, seven installments for PCT). Students may also qualify for external grants (WIOA, Skill Up, SNAP/TANF, etc.), which can cover or reduce tuition.


Admission Requirements

The enrollment criteria include:

  • Must be 18 or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent (recommended if not required)
  • Pass background check and family safety registry
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (if required)
  • COVID vaccine optional for CNA
  • Pay at least $125 registration fee
  • For grant cases: proof of benefit for grants, and in some cases, full tuition sources

These requirements are straightforward. The background/family registry checks are mandatory for clinical placement.


Certification & Exam

Upon program completion, students become eligible to take the state CNA exam, approval facilitated by Aspire instructors. Exam fee is $125, scheduled at program end.

Graduates leave prepared to assist in patient hygiene, vital signs, mobility, and basic care tasks under RN/LPN supervision. The hybrid model strikes a balance between convenience and practical training depth.
